Autumnfest presents a ten-division parade on Columbus Day October 8th. This will be 29th parade and a grand marshall is selected each year to lead the parade. Past grand marshals have included community leaders, business persons and politicians. | |

Rachel Arruda, parade chairman, and Paul Jacob, Autumnfest chairman, jointly announce Autumnfest has selected Richard Lepine as the parade Grand Marshall. Lepine, a Cumberland resident, is active in community affairs. A Woonsocket native, Lepine devotes his time to the Narragansett Council of Boys Scouts and was named recipient of the Good Scout Award in 2006. He has been active in both cub and boy scout programs. | |

Lepine has involved himself in the Diocesan Office of Youth Ministry and was active in fund-raising for the building fund campaign to make safety improvements at the Father Marot CYO Center. Lepine also has assisted in raising funds for the Mercymount Capital Campaign. In Cumberland, Lepine has coached youth soccer, basketball and baseball. Lepine has offered his advise and wisdom as a member of the advisory group for the museum of work and culture, an incorporator with Hockomock YMCA and a member of the Cumberland Business Association and the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce. Lepine, a financial advisor by profession, lends his expertise as an advisor of the pension investment board of the city of Woonsocket. Lepine has made generous contributions to various charities including Autumnfest, the Stadium Theatre, the PBS Auction and numerous community activities.
