The Autumnfest Steering Committee is dedicated to making our community a place where each person, each event, makes someone proud to live here. Through volunteers, the Autumnfest Committee holds many community events with the largest one being on Columbus Day Weekend. These community events are run by volunteers, people who want to make a difference by giving back to their community.
This year, the committee is proud to offer our 6th scholarship to a graduating senior who displays the love and passion for the community by the volunteer work they are involved in within the community. This scholarship is named after long standing committee member, Nancy Phillips, who is extremely dedicated to the community.
Application Process
Description & Purpose
The Nancy Phillips Autumnfest Scholarship is an honor given to a student viewed as a member of the community whose dedication to our community in terms of volunteering are considered above and beyond. The scholarship is reserved for a young scholar who has shown commitment to the community in the form of volunteerism. The selection committee takes great pleasure in choosing a scholarship recipient from among the wonderfully talented, caring students attending schools in our community. There will be one $1,000 scholarship.
Qualifications
Each applicant must be a full time student with a commitment to service and /or volunteerism in our community. The student must attend either Woonsocket High School, WACTC, Mount Saint Charles or Beacon Charter School. There is no minimum GPA requirement for this scholarship but student must be in good standing in the school department.

Selection Process
All applications must be submitted no later than 2pm on May 1st. Along with the completed application, students may submit a copy of their transcript, a letter of recommendation, and any other materials they may feel will be helpful to the committee in making their decision. All applications must be signed by the student. Only completed applications will go to the selection committee. The members of the selection committee will read each application and select the recipient.
Notification
The selection committee will notify the recipient by mail and/or senior awards night in June. A check will be issued directly to the recipient at completion of their first semester of school. The recipient must show proof of first semester completion and second semester registration.
